Right on our door step here at the Cairns Trinity Inlet is a natural environment waiting to be explored. This unique system is a maze of mangroves and waterways with amazing scenery and certainly an abundance of wildlife from the Estuarine Crocodiles, Waterbirds, Waders, just to name a few along with insects, and other reptiles waiting to be found. In one of the many waterways we branch off into one of the tributaries to visit the Cairns Crocodile Farm. This tour departs at 9.30am daily & combines 3 experiences:
WILDERNESS CRUISES
As we explore the tidal estuary of waterways winding through some 340 square kilometres maze of mangroves which is only accessible by boat, this is a natural beauty which is generally only seen by fisherman can be explored now aboard the only luxury, air-conditioned cruise, which specialises in taking small numbers to explore Trinity Inlet and learn of its flora and fauna. Your friendly crew will give you in depth commentary of this diverse eco system whilst watching out for the Estuarine Crocodile basking in the sun on the Mangrove Lined Banks.
CAIRNS CROCODILE FARM
The Crocodile Explorer is the only operator to have access to this commercial crocodile farm. You will arrive either by boat or coach. There is no wildlife shows here this is Australia’s largest crocodile farm with over 20,000 farm crocodiles & 200 large breeding crocodiles. The Skins that are produced here are considered to be the highest and finest grade in the world, and the skins are then used for designer accessories, handbags, shoes, clothing and much more, mainly for the rich and famous and celebrities. Whilst on your tour you will see firsthand crocodiles up close in their natural environment and learn about their habits, how the eggs are harvested and how the crocodiles are farmed.
SCENIC COACH TOUR
You can choose from cruising to or from the Crocodile Farm aboard the MV Crocodile Explorer and then complete the other one-way journey via a 30 minute coach tour through the southern suburbs of Cairns. Your tour will give you an insight into our large Sugar Cane industry, learn about our breathtaking mountain ranges whilst learning of the early history to the area and how sugar cane help develop the region.
